Hardly Art is a private, single-room studio on the third floor at 408 E Sherman Ave, in the middle of downtown Coeur d'Alene. No waiting area full of people watching you get tattooed. Pick a piece of flash, or bring a reference or an idea and we'll draw it — either way the work gets the time it actually needs.
Custom projects go through a request first. Not everything gets taken on; subject matter, placement, and the calendar all factor in. If it isn't a fit, we'll say so rather than do it badly.
Sessions
Time, not guesswork.
Work is booked by the session rather than quoted by the piece, so the drawing gets the hours it needs. The request form routes you to a half-day or full-day session based on the size you select — a $100 deposit holds the date, and pricing is worked out with the artist from there.
Shorter sittings
For single-session pieces and defined areas. Where the form sends smaller-to-medium work.
Long-form work
For larger pieces, panels, and anything that benefits from an uninterrupted stretch of time.
Small pieces
Smaller work and flash are scheduled at the artist's discretion for the appointment.

How it goes.
You must be 18 or older. Valid government-issued photo ID is required before any work begins.

Request
Send the idea over
Fill out the request form with your concept, placement, rough size, and any reference images. Based on the size you select, it points you to a half-day or full-day session.

Review
We read it and reply
If the project's a fit, we'll come back to you about scheduling and what kind of session it needs. If it isn't, you'll hear that too.

Hold
$100 deposit confirms the date
A $100 deposit is due at booking and holds your session. It goes toward the final cost of the tattoo, which the artist prices with you from there.

Changes
Reschedule with 48 hours' notice
Give us at least 48 hours and your deposit moves with you. Later than that, or a no-show, may forfeit the deposit. If we ever have to cancel on you, you choose: reschedule free, or a full refund.

After
Aftercare is the other half
You'll leave with instructions, and we'll follow up. How a tattoo heals depends enormously on what happens in the two weeks after you walk out.
Payments
Pay your way.
The $100 deposit is due at booking. For the rest, take your pick — including splitting it into payments.
Cash & card
Cash, all major credit and debit cards, and Apple Pay are accepted at the studio.
Split it up
Pay over time with Klarna — break the cost into smaller payments instead of one hit.
Four installments
Afterpay splits your total into four payments over six weeks. Get tattooed now, spread the rest out.
